Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can Deer Crossing Lodge accommodate for a wedding?
The lodge sleeps 24 across 6 bedrooms. For larger wedding parties, Forest Haven sits walking distance from the lodge and accommodates an additional 8 guests, bringing total on-site sleeping capacity to 32.
What is included in the $3,000 wedding package?
The $3,000 package includes a two-night stay at Deer Crossing Lodge (sleeps 24), full use of the lodge and pavilion, 60 chairs, and 12 tables. Catering, wedding cake, and photography are available through preferred vendors at additional cost, payable directly to the vendor. Contact us for referrals.
Is the pavilion covered?
Yes — the pavilion is covered, providing shelter for outdoor ceremonies and receptions regardless of weather. North Georgia mountain weather can be unpredictable, especially in spring and fall, so the covered pavilion is a significant practical advantage over open-air venues.
Can we have a full weekend celebration at Deer Crossing Lodge?
Yes. The two-night stay supports a full weekend celebration — rehearsal dinner Friday through farewell brunch Sunday. Check-in is at 4:00 PM, check-out is at 11:00 AM. The lodge and pavilion are yours for the entire stay.
Are pets welcome at the venue?
Yes — Deer Crossing Lodge is pet-friendly. Dogs are welcome (max 2, no cats, fee applies). Call the office to arrange before arrival if you're bringing pets.
What is the closest airport to Deer Crossing Lodge?
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is approximately 90 miles from Sautee Nacoochee — about a 90-minute drive depending on Atlanta traffic. Gainesville, GA (about 30 miles) is the closest regional airport for private aviation.
When is the best time of year for a mountain wedding in North Georgia?
All four seasons work at Deer Crossing Lodge, but fall (late September through November) is peak season — the foliage in the Sautee Nacoochee Valley is spectacular, temperatures are mild, and the light is exceptional for photos. Spring (April through May) is a close second. Book well in advance for fall weekends as they fill quickly.
