Tanglewood Cabin Rental and Deer Crossing Lodge

About Us

History of Tanglewood Cabins

Tanglewood Cabin Rentals has been a family owned business or over 40 years where we do our very best to make every guest feel welcome so that when they leave they feel like family.  This is why we take pride in having a 95% return guest rate.

Original owners, Bob and Sara Revell moved to Helen from Miami, Florida after Bob retired from the Dade County Fire Department.  At that time Tanglewood was the only cabin rental company in Helen and only had 6 cabins.  Bob and Sara realized that the guests wanted to bring their families back year after year so they began to build larger cabins on over 35 acres.  One, two, and three bedroom cabins were built and rented year round.  Eventually, guests started asking if they could buy cabins and have Bob and Sara manage and rent the cabins out for extra income.  This was a great success!

Bob’s firefighter buddies caught wind of this great investment and requested Bob build 3, 4, and 5 bedroom cabins, so Bob and a partner bought 25 acres across the highway and built these cabins on a Lane named after Sara.

Large groups began to stay at Tanglewood and Bob saw the need to build something larger where guests could meet, so he built Deer Crossing Lodge.  The Lodge has benefitted every cabin owner because of the large number of groups that Tanglewood books.   Several groups a year book the Lodge along with multiple cabins up to a year in advance.  Some examles of the groups that we rent to are church groups, wedding parties, Porsche 356, GA Tech Golf, and GA Power just to mention a few.

In 2001 Sara became ill and Bob decided it was time to sell Tanglewood to his son Curtis who is now the owner along with  his wife Bridget.  Curtis and Bridget have both worked at Tanglewood from the very beginning along with their children.  They find it a pleasure to interact with the loyal guests  that have been coming here for years and are now bringing new members that they are certain will continue the tradition.  Their main goal is to make each and every guest  feel that Tanglewood is their home away from home, or cabin we should say.

We do our very best to accommdate each guest and meet their needs to the best of our ability while informing them of local attractions and restaurants in and around our county, from Gold Mining to local wineries and even Walmart which is open 24 hours.

For our owners, we commit to doing everything possible to rent cabins for an optimal price that is also in compliance within our territory.  We partner with several marketing sites and our website is state of the art, is mobile friendly, and owner compliable as well.  Our promise to our owners is that we work very hard for you.  If you don’t make money, we don’t make money.

Thank you for allowing us to give you the history of Tanglewood and we consider it an honor that you are interested in being a part of our family.  We are here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
